Kamina The Gurren Lagann!

Kamina (カミナ Kamina) is a young man that born from Giha Village and the founder of Team Gurren. A central character of the story, Kamina is the first leader of Team Gurren. After his death, his legacy would live on in Simon.

Background

Kamina is a refractory youth from Giha village who dreams of leaving his underground home and going to the surface world, which he saw as a child. His extremely passionate and self-confident personality causes him to act as a foil for the more timid and weak-willed Simon, and serves to instill courage within Simon. His actions greatly influence the entire series, as he forms Team Dai-Gurren and acts as its leader to combat the threat of Lordgenome and the beastmen. Early in the series, Kamina hijacks a Gunmen he names Gurren, which he pilots while combined with Simon's Lagann to form Gurren Lagann.

Appearance

Kamina is tall and well built, and prides himself on being "manly and tough". He has light blue, short, spiky hair and is frequently seen wearing his trademark sunglasses that cover his red eyes. His skin is peach, like Simon's. but with a little tan, and he has tattoos along both of his arms which extend to his shoulders and near his upper back.

Personality

At first glance, Kamina is boisterous, hotheaded, and arrogant. He demands recognition and seems hungry for greatness, illustrated in his tendency to call himself "the Mighty Kamina" and his signature catchphrase, "Who the Hell do you think I am?!" He is an idealist with tremendous determination, sometimes to the point of ignorance. Yoko described him as "A Man of Unlimited Stupidity." Kamina is also very perverted, declaring that the urge to stare at beautiful women is the definition of a man.
Kamina is also extremely determined; he never lets anything keep him down for long. Even discovering that his father was dead only solemned him for a night or two. He is also devoted to defending and supporting his friends and loved ones, fighting with all his strength to protect them. In turn, he is very charismatic in the heat of battle, able to inspire even the timid Simon to great feats and almost Single-Handedly setting the foundations of  Team Dai-Gurren.
Despite his often-insane actions, Kamina has a fairly insightful personality. He tells Yoko that his war against the Beastman is not for personal glory or vengeance, but a desire to give future generations a world in which they can live without worry. His bravado and fearlessness is also little more than a facade to mask his own worries and support others; he personally admitted that people like Simon are the real heroes. Despite his often moronic moves, he has a level of common sense, pointing out that if they fled from Dai-Gunzan, they would be wide open for attacks. This suggests Kamina has a more complicated personality than shown in the show.

Weapons

Kamina originally had a nodachi (his sword), that he had stolen from the Giha village chief. In episodes 2 and 3, Kamina used a pistol given to him by Yoko, and he also used her rifle to hunt animals. During his fight with Viral, he used his Nodachi, and a hidden arrow that he had picked up from an animal Viral shot, as well as some assistance from Simon and Yoko. Kamina's most valuable weapons were the Gurren and Gurren Lagann. {C}Originally, Kamina couldn't pilot the Gurren as well as a Beastman, which put him at a disadvantage: Viral could easily beat him one on one until Gurren Lagann was formed. However, thanks to training with Simon, by Episode 8, he had mastered the controls and was an ace pilot.

Skills
  • Expert Physical Fighter: As shown a number of times, Kamina's fighting skills are well above those of normal humans. He was able to fight Viral one on one with his Nodachi and, while injured, landed a blow on Viral. He also is shown to be a good fist fighter: one of his punches caused Simon to almost flip over in his seat.
  • Quick Learner: Although not very obvious, Kamina is shown to be a quick learner. By episode 3, wherein he begins using ranged weapon, Kamina's accuracy impresses even Yoko, an extremely skilled Sharpshooter. Having stolen his nodachi from the village chief in the first episode, he was able to use it rather well, pushing even Viral, an expert in combat (being a beastman and well trained soldier). By the last episode in which he appeared, he has also become a very skilled gunman pilot, able to rival Viral in his piloting skills, despite having only used Gunmen for a short time.
  • Mastery of Planning: Kamina, though masked by his hot blooded personality, is a good tactician, contributing to his ability as a leader. His battles often involve a development of new fighting style, unpredictable and well planned moves. He is able to see his opponents' weak points, or the most effective way to beat them - such as hijacking Dai-Gunzan and the Gunzar on the field (which later became Dai-Gurren and Gurren respectively) rather than fighting them, and taking note of the field condition when fighting against Dai-Gunzan for the first time. Compared to the way the Brigade fights after his death, battles during his leadership involved more complex planning.
  • Enhanced Endurance: Kamina's skill in a fight relies heavily on his stamina. Kamina has been shown to be able to take blows that would kill most people, and continue fighting. The greatest example of this is shown when he is stabbed twice by Thymilph, yet manages to recover and kill him. This extreme endurance isn't enough to defy death entirely, however: he succumbs to his wounds and dies soon afterwards.
  • Fighting Spirit: His 'fighting spirit' is an extremely powerful force in the show. His charisma and bravado inspire his teammates to perform at the top of their ability, and allow him to support the underconfident Simon when his willpower flags.
It's also stated that Kamina was killed by Thymilph's first assault, implying that his fighting spirit allowed him to temporarily come back from the dead to ensure the success of the mission and avenge himself.
Kamina is shown to have great reflexes, at one point dodging an arrow Viral aimed at him

Kaito Shion The Vocaloid

Kaito Shion ( 海斗 かいと) is a Japanese Vocaloid released in February 2006 for the first Vocaloid engine, developed and distributed by Crypton Future Media inc. There has since been a second installment developed for the Vocaloid3 engine and dubbed Kaito V3. His voice is provided by the Japanese male singer, Naoto Fuga (風雅 なおと).

Appearance

The illustration was done by Takashi Kawasaki. Crypton did not set his character and profile except for his package design. As well as Meiko , he was not made with the aim of giving character or personality to vocal synthesis software. This was empathized during the development also of the V3 vocal banks, with Wat stating how different the intention of the CV series was to the intention of Kaito / Meiko. This led to the updates leading a totally different course of development, in comparison to the Appends of Miku, Len, Rin and Luka.

Kaito's muffler has become one of his more iconic items. During his V3 update there was fan outcry over the idea of it being made transparent, in answer to this Crypton stated that cloth can be made out of anything, including plastic: there was a lot more freedom than many realized with it.

Kaito has no official given age. However, in Marker Hikoshiki Hatsune Mix he is usually portrayed as a middle aged man by Kei, however what the artist depicts in the comic is not official, as he mentioned in a magazine interview. Because of the story of his rediscovery in 2008, Kaito was often depicted with ice cream. This gave birth to the "Item War" Internet Meme tradition.

Luffy!

Monkey D. Luffy "Straw Hat" (モンキー・D・ルフィ Monkī Dī Rufi) is a fictional character and the primary protagonist of the One Piece franchise created by Eiichiro Edo. He is introduced as a young boy whose body gains the properties of rubber after he inadvertently eats a supernatural fruit called the Gomu-Gomu Fruit.

In One Piece, Luffy sails from the East Blue to the Grand Line in search of the legendary treasure One Piece to succeed Gold D. Roger as the King of the Pirates. He is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates and he recruits members along his journey. He fights several antagonists, such as the World Government, during his travels. Luffy has a nonchalant demeanor but is quick to become serious whenever he senses that someone is in danger. Luffy is able to use the elasticity of his body to concentrate his strength and power for attacks, the most prominent being his signature Gum-Gum Pistol, in which Luffy slingshots his punches at opponents from a distance.

As the protagonist, Luffy appears in most of the episodes, films, television specials, and OVA's of the anime series One Piece, as well as several of the franchise's video games. Due to the series' international popularity, Luffy has become one of the most recognizable and iconic anime characters. Outside of the One Piece franchise, Luffy has had an appearance in the crossover manga Cross Epoch. He has also been the subject of other parodies, and has appeared in various special events throughout Japanese pop culture. Luffy's critical reception has been largely positive and he has been recognized as one of the greatest manga/anime characters of all time.

Personality

Luffy is portrayed as a carefree and happy-go-lucky character with great ambitions and a huge appetite. He often thinks with his stomach and often gorges himself to comical levels. He is caring and generally good hearted. However, he is not as naive as many people believe him to be, showing more understanding in situations than people often expect. Knowing the dangers ahead, he is willing to risk his life to reach his goal to become the King of the Pirates, and protect his crew.

He invites several people, such as Chopper or Brook, onto his crew generally for their personality but also because of his instinctual ability to be able to read people. His main reason has been stated a few times in the story. He needs several key jobs filled in his crew (i.e., cook, navigator, doctor, musician, shipwright, and so on) that each individual crew member fulfills (in the respective cases, Sanji, Nami, Chopper, Brook and Franky). Luffy stated in the beginning of the series that he wants at least 10 crew members, each with abilities that he feels necessary for his goal. Each members of the crew respect him in their own way despite his carefree personality. He is rarely concerned with the consequences of his actions, doing what he feels even if it leads to retaliation by a powerful force. However, he is an extremely loyal captain, who has demonstrated at many points throughout the series that he is willing to risk his life for the well-being of his crew.

Abilities

Luffy's rubber powers are a result from eating the Gum-Gum Fruit, which makes him virtually immune to nearly every blunt force attack, as well as the ability to stretch his body at will. Combined with the elasticity of his body, he uses that ability to accelerate parts or the whole of his body as if shot by a slingshot to deliver punches, kicks, head butts, body checks, or simply for propulsion. As with other Devil Fruit users, Luffy is unable to swim and when he is submerged in water as water can negate his powers. In addition to his Devil Fruit powers, Luffy possesses immense strength and endurance.

Luffy's signature move is the Gum-Gum Pistol (ゴムゴムの銃(ピストル) Gomu-gomu no Pisutoru), a punch technique which he learned during his years of training. Another technique developed later in the series, is Gear 2 (ギア2(セカンド) Gia Sekando), an attack increasing his strength and overall speed for a limited amount of time, but can strain his body afterwards. Gear 3 (ギア3(サード) Gia Sādo), another technique, uses air inflated into his bone structure to attack with massive limbs and strength, but initially causes him to shrink afterwards. He is capable of using both techniques simultaneously. Eventually, Luffy develops his latent ability to use Haki (覇気, lit. "ambition"). This ability has two types, Armament Haki (武装色の覇気 Busōshoku no Haki), which is an armor-like force that can amplify defense and the force of attacks and negate a Devil Fruit user's defense, allow physical contact and damage, and Observation Haki (見聞色の覇気 Kenbunshoku no Haki), which is a sixth sense that can read a person's moves and detect their presence. He has a rare variation, the Color of the Supreme King (覇王色の覇気 Haōshoku no Haki) which can render people or animals in his proximity unconscious. Two years later, Luffy masters the three types of Haki, and uses them in conjunction with his improved attacks. Also, as a result of his encounter with Magellan, Luffy has also developed an immunity to poison.
